NRA Endorses Walczyk - gives 'A' rating
As he continues his campaign for reelection, state Assemblyman Mark Walczyk announced Monday that he has been endorsed by the nation’s largest Second Amendment advocacy organization, the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Since the NRA was formed in 1871, the organization has evolved into the country’s premier organization for firearm training, education and advocacy. They have nearly five million members throughout the country, many of them hailing from St. Lawrence and Jefferson Counties. In addition to being endorsed by the NRA, Walczyk also scored the coveted “A” rating, which represents his defense of Second Amendment rights.
“Assemblyman Walczyk has been a leader and a strong voice for New York gun owners,” said Darin Goens, NRA-ILA State Director. “The Second Amendment is continually under attack in Albany, but Mark never hesitates to stand up and defend our guaranteed Constitutional rights.”
“I raised my right hand and swore to uphold the constitution, and I know that means protecting our Second Amendment rights. My record in Albany reflects that,” said Assemblyman Mark Walczyk. “I’ll continue the fight in defense of our inalienable rights and against those who would seek to diminish them. Some have said 'it's the 2nd amendment that protects all the rest of them' and I agree."
This endorsement by the NRA is the most recent secured by Assemblyman Mark Walczyk, as he seeks his second term. Additionally, Mark Walczyk has also been endorsed by NYSTPBA, CSEA, one of New York’s largest unions, the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, Council 82, Local 2390, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 73, New York State Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA), Local 4, International Union of Police Associations, AFL-CIO, the state’s largest teachers union, NYSUT and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Association, Inc.
